VOTE STEWARDS /
VOTE APPRENTICES

WHAT IS A VOTE STEWARD:

Vote Stewards will conduct the field work for getting people engaged in voting, training and identifying potential apprentices, and expanding our voter database. Each person who attends a local training session will be asked to be a Vote Steward. The majority of Vote Stewards will be institutional leaders involved in institutional development. Different training opportunities will be available like:

  • How to register to vote
  • How to fill out an Early Mail-in Ballot Request
  • How to conduct a House Meeting / small group meeting
  • Why we Organize
WHAT WILL A VOTE STEWARD BE RESONSIBLE FOR:
  • Identifying and committing 100 people to vote
  • Holding House meetings / local trainings
    • How do you get 100 people?
      • Organizing 10 Apprentices to get 10 mail-in ballot requests each
      • Asking 100 people to fill out a commitment card or early mail in ballot card. Broken down, that means asking 1 person almost every day, beginning now through the primary.
      • Conducting small group meetings in your institutions, either after mass/ services, in classes, in lounge areas, in ministry meetings and more.
      • Use your imagination!

WHAT IS A VOTE STEWARD APPRENTICE:
A Vote Steward Apprentice is a leader who is interested in engaging a small group of people committed to voting in the fall elections. This can include family members, co-workers, friends, acquaintances and/or people who attend a house meeting (small group meeting). Training sessions will be available.

WHAT IS A VOTE STEWARD APPRENTICE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Getting 10 people committed to vote in the fall elections by filling out an Early Mail-in Ballot Request

    WHEN DOES THE VOTE STEWARD / VOTE STEWARD APPRENTICE BEGIN TO SIGN UP AND TAKE CHARGE:
    Beginning in June through November 2, 2004
