Vote "No" on these Three Propositions!
The Arizona Interfaith Network (AIN) Board of Directors and the Leaders from the four AIN organizations recommend a "No" vote on the following Ballot Propositions on the November 4 General Election Ballot.
Proposition 101 - Medical Choice for Arizona
If passed, this proposition will amend the Arizona Constitution to prevent state lawmakers from passing future legislation that could include universal healthcare or other local and national healthcare reform proposals for Arizonans.
Proposition 105 - Majority Rules, Let the People Decide
If passed, this proposition will amend the Arizona Constitution to require that any initiative imposing new taxes or fees, as well as any initiative that would mandate new spending, must have the support from a majority of all Arizona registered voters, whether they go to the polls or not. As a result a person who does not vote would have the same power as a person who votes "No." If approved, to pass an initiative would require a "yes" vote by 50.1% of all registered voters.
Proposition 200 - Payday Loan Reform Act
If passed, this proposition will amend Arizona Revised Statues would make current payday loan laws permanent and would halt efforts by the Arizona Legislature to eliminate or modify payday loan statues. The current statutes allowing payday loans will "sunset" on June 30, 2010 unless renewed by the Legislature.
