Interfaith Organizations Move on Foreclosures
Valley workshops tackle foreclosures It's the season for foreclosure workshops in the Valley. Despite the drop in foreclosure filings in November, there are still more than 28,000 families about to lose their houses in metropolitan Phoenix. • Today, the West Valley Interfaith Project is bringing together city mayors and community leaders to address the area's foreclosure problem. "We've heard hundreds of stories about how our communities are being torn apart because of bad mortgages and fraudulent loans," said Harvey Lesan, council president of St. John Vianney Catholic parish. "There's a bailout for the financial industry. But who's looking out for the interests of our families and communities?" The meeting at Agua Fria High School in Avondale starts at 7 p.m.
